Good morning all!
Today is my least favorite day of the week... Monday! :( It also doesn't help any that I just got back yesterday from my family vacation in Williamsburg, VA. Every year I go up there and stay in my family's timeshare. They have a wonderful outlet mall that is filled with great deals! Since I'm on a budget for moving, all I was able to afford was a scarf.
For the first time ever, my family won't be together for Christmas. Because of this, everyone elected to open presents over the weekend. I can finally say that I own a DSLR camera!! It is a Nikon D5200. Although I haven't had time to really test it out yet, I promise pictures will come soon. I can't wait to explore the wonders that is digital photography!

How It All Started
Gooood morning! As I was sitting here at work, I starting thinking about sharing my story of how I got into photography. It's hard to say exactly when taking photographs first interested me. All I would do is simply snap a picture of whatever looked cool with my iPhone 4s and that would be the end. To be honest, I could of cared less about editing, shutter speed, ISO, etc...
The first time it really struck me how beautiful the earth is, was when I visited San Diego. I lived there when I was much younger, and for the first time got to explore the city with the freedom of a young adult. Driving up the California coastline and seeing La Jolla Cove was one of the most memorable times of my life. I couldn't keep my camera app closed.
A couple of months after that I met a guy who I really liked (yes I am gay). I won't say his name on here, but he was a professional photographer. He showed me his portfolio and it was filled with outstandingly gorgeous photographs of weddings and landscape. From that moment on, I knew I was going to have a new hobby. Unfortunately things didn't work out with this guy, and we stopped talking before he could really teach me anything.
Soon after me and this guy stopped talking, I went to a pawn shop and bought my first point and shoot camera. It was a Canon PowerShot SX 150 IS. Actually, it is still the only camera, besides my phone, that I have today. I started to read photography blogs nonstop to learn all of the tips and tricks. It took me awhile (and I'm still learning) how to make the shutter speed, aperture, and ISO work together to make extravagant photos.
This Christmas I will be getting my first DSLR camera, so follow me along on this adventure. Any helpful tips or tricks are more than appreciated in the comments! :)

Big Changes
After some careful thought and consideration, I am making the biggest decision of my life.... I'm moving this May to Newark, NJ. For those who don't know, Newark is just across the river from New York City. This has been a dream of mine ever since I was a little child. Hopefully my transcripts will be available by Friday so I can fill out my transfer applications. I'm hoping to get into Rutgers University. Since I'll be moving without a job, I am very nervous about what may come ahead. All I can do is pray everything will work out in the end.
